For those that love the Native American squash blossom necklaces, bracelets and rings there are several stunning, gorgeous pieces to describe and make available. These pieces were purchased in the early 70’s to mid 80’s and all appraised in 2005. The photos will be updated to provide more visual clarity, but this will give you an idea of the jewelry. There are a couple squash blossom necklaces, multi-strand heishe and fetish necklaces, bracelets, rings, and a couple of bola ties all in the Navajo, Zuni and Hopi traditions. Turquoise is the most prominent from mines in Bisbee and Kingman. There is coral, mother of pearl, and intricate inlays of turquoise, coral (red), mother of pearl (white), jet (black) and tortoise shell (brown).
The following is the beautiful Bisbee turquoise squash blossom with turquoise ring. To give you an idea of this specific squash blossom necklace, from the tip to the top blossoms is approximately 10″. The sterling silver at the bottom is some 2″ x 2″ and the average size of the blossom nuggets, bit larger at the bottom to a bit smaller at neck line, are some 1/2″ in size. And again, a better photo detailing the intricate silver and stone work will be available by the end of the month.
